Dartmoor: Back to Bonehill Down

Sharp Tor Outliers

I never tire of visiting Bonehill Down; its tors and landscape are truly inspiring to the eye and it's a great place to get back into tor bagging, with 8 on this route in 3 miles. After I received a painful blister from my 14-mile walk on Monday, this stroll was most welcome. It also enabled me to explore what I would otherwise, to my shame, pass through.

Dartmoor: Bonehill Down and clearing up some stragglers on Haytor Down (Part 1)

Chinkwell Tor

The Haytor Area has always been one of my top visited areas, yet I must feel ashamed on some of today's tors I have never visited before, as they were great. It was also great to revisit and explore, taking in more new tors along the route.

Dartmoor: Bonehill Down in the Snow

Chinkwell Tor

I've probably said this before but I love Bonehill Down! A decent elevation and amazing views with stupendous tors that can be achieved in an hour for little effort is great, as is the access from the multiple car parks below Bonehill Rocks. There had been a light dusting of snow this morning, time to check it out.
